OPEC: BAGHDAD INTERNATIONAL FORUM A STRATEGIC HUB FOR GLOBAL ENERGY

The Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham Faisal Rashid Al-Ghais, affirmed today, Wednesday, that the first Baghdad International Energy Forum is a strategic hub for global energy.

In a letter addressed to the forum organizers, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Ghais said: "OPEC's participation in the activities of this international event reflects the organization's and member states' keenness to consolidate cooperation and joint coordination in the oil sector and all energy sources." He noted that "Iraq, as one of the founding countries of OPEC, plays a pivotal role in the stability and balance of global energy markets."

He added that "the forum represents an important opportunity to attract specialists, investors, and international partners to develop capabilities and strengthen the energy industry in Iraq," noting that "the success of this event will make Baghdad a permanent hub for strategic dialogues and agreements in the energy sector."
