The AVİM Trainee Program is a program that offers short-term and long-term participation opportunities to candidates interested in studies related to the Eurasian region. The minimum participation period is 20 working days, while longer-term participation opportunities are also available. 

Applications to the AVİM Trainee Program are welcomed from domestic and international 3rd or 4th year undergraduate students, recent graduates, and students at the master’s and PhD levels who are pursuing academic, diplomatic, or specialist careers.

Participants conduct research on a topic of their interest under the guidance of an AVİM expert and submit a research report at the end of the program. Research topics include the South Caucasus, Armenian history and foreign policy, the Armenian Church, International law, the Balkans, Central Asia, Asia-Pacific, and European regional issues and related topics. Participants may prepare their research reports in Turkish or English. As part of the program, AVİM Expert Presentations are also held periodically, thereby providing participants with an interactive and multidimensional learning environment.

Participants who successfully complete the program are awarded a certificate. In addition, their information is included in the “Practical Training Program Participants” list published in the AVİM Annual Report at the end of the year. At the end of the program period, selected reports are published on AVİM’s website under the section titled “AVİM Traineeship Program Reports.”

Applicants are expected to submit an up-to-date Europass CV with a photograph, together with a motivation letter indicating the region or topic they would like to research. In the motivation letter, applicants should explain why they are suitable candidates for the program and specify their intended dates of participation. The program accepts applications throughout the year. Due to the high demand during the summer period, applicants are strongly advised to submit their applications as early as possible.

The AVİM Trainee Program also accepts applications within the scope of the ERASMUS+ Traineeship program.
