Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed expanding economic cooperation, implementing high-level agreements and strengthening their countries' strategic partnership and alliance at a meeting in Baku on 14 October.

At the start of the talks, Mirziyoyev congratulated Aliyev on Azerbaijan's successful chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and the organisation of the organisation's seventh summit.

The presidents focused on implementing agreements reached during Aliyev's state visit to Uzbekistan in August 2026.
