TAJIKISTAN PLANS TO EXPAND LOGISTICS CAPACITY FOR IRANIAN OIL IMPORTS

Tajikistan plans to expand its infrastructure and logistics capacity to increase the volume of crude oil and petroleum products transported between Iran and Tajikistan, Transport Minister Azim Ibrohim was quoted as saying by Iran’s Oil Ministry Website.

Following a meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad, Ibrohim said transportation routes and logistics would play a key role in expanding energy cooperation between the two countries.

Currently, around 800,000 metric tons of petroleum products are transported between Iran and Tajikistan annually. Ibrohim said the volume could increase significantly following the launch of a joint working group.
