A European Commission spokesperson said that Kosovo continues to fail to benefit from funds from the European Union's Growth Plan due to the failure to ratify this agreement in the Kosovo Assembly.

According to the Commission spokesperson, the only countries that have not benefited from the Growth Plan continue to be Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, although Bosnia is blocked by Republika Srpska, Kosovo was blocked by its own political entities as a result of the political blockade. The Commission raised the alarm about the risk that Kosovo has of losing EU funds.

"The European Commission stands ready to help Western Balkan(*) partners accelerate outstanding reforms, ensuring their completion within the grace period. The grace period for steps due by the end of 2024 ends at the end of 2026, while for steps due by mid-2025 ends at mid-2026."

(*) AVİM considers the term "Western Balkans" to be a politically motivated separatist terminology and persists on the use of the geographical and historical identification "Balkans" regarding the region.
