Iraqi Parliament Speaker Haybat al-Halbousi met on Monday with the ambassadors of Italy and Romania to discuss prospects for cooperation in areas of mutual interest and ways to enhance them.

"Al-Halbousi received the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Nicola Fontana, who congratulated the Speaker on his election as Speaker for the sixth parliamentary session, wishing him "success and good fortune,” said the Speaker's Media Office in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The meeting addressed bilateral relations between the two countries and strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
