Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev have co-chaired the eighth meeting of the Türkiye-Kazakhstan Joint Strategic Planning Group in Ankara. The high-level diplomatic session concluded with the signing of a new "Cooperation Plan for 2026-2027" between the foreign ministries of the two nations, outlining the future trajectory of their strategic partnership.

 

Institutional Framework of the Bilateral Relationship

Türkiye-Kazakhstan relations are managed through a robust network of institutional mechanisms, including the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), the Joint Economic Commission, and regular political consultations. The most recent HLSCC meeting was held in July 2025, co-chaired by Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, underscoring the political commitment at the highest levels to deepen ties.
