Turkish National Intelligence Organization chief Ibrahim Kalin met Thursday with the speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives Haibat al-Halbousi in Ankara to discuss regional and international issues, according to security sources.

Steps that could be taken to further develop cooperation between the two countries, particularly in security, and to resolve existing problems were also addressed.

They discussed cooperation mechanisms that would serve the common interests of both countries and support regional security and stability.
