Russia is awaiting the results of an investigation by Armenia into sanitary violations identified in Armenian products, as well as an action plan to address them, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) told Izvestia.

“Rosselkhoznadzor expects the Armenian side to provide the results of the investigation and information on the measures taken, as well as an action plan proposed by the Armenian side to ensure compliance with the veterinary and phytosanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU),” the agency said in response to a question about when the restrictions could be eased or lifted.

Earlier, Russia imposed restrictions on imports of a range of Armenian products citing detection of violations. The restrictions have affected products ranging from mineral water and alcoholic beverages to vegetables, fruits and dairy products.
