Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein affirmed on Sunday that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plays a pivotal role in activating diplomatic tracks with neighboring countries and enhancing bilateral and regional cooperation on joint water management.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein chaired an expanded meeting today at the ministry's headquarters dedicated to discussing the water and environmental challenges facing Iraq."

"The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Multilateral Relations and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Shorsh Khalid Saeed, and Counselor Torhan al-Mufti, in addition to representatives of the Ministries of Water Resources, Environment, and Agriculture, and the legal and organizational departments within the ministry."
