Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy on Monday to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and coordination within the framework of the Arab League, as well as current developments in the region and the potential repercussions of disruptions to maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met with Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy at the League's headquarters in Cairo, on the sidelines of the 166th regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level. The meeting was also attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Qahtan Taha Khalaf, and the Head of the Arab Affairs Department, Ambassador Osama Mahdi Ghanem."
