Greece will within days issue a navigational directive, or Navtex, on the resumption of seabed surveys for the project to link its power grid with that of Cyprus(*), according to government officials.

Before that, Turkey will be briefed on the planned work but no permission will be requested from Ankara, which has voiced strong reservations on the undersea cable traversing areas on which it claims jurisdiction.

(*) AVİM uses "Cyprus" as a geographic name. AVİM considers the expression "Republic of Cyprus" to mean the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus.
