Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, has announced that authorities are examining the terms of the privatization of Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), including subsequent transactions involving the transfer of ownership of the company’s shares.

“The terms of the privatization of 100 percent of the shares of Electric Networks of Armenia, as well as subsequent transactions involving the transfer of ownership rights, are being examined,” Khudatyan stated.

According to the minister, between November 16, 2015, and December 31, 2017, ownership of 100 percent of ENA’s shares was transferred in three stages to an offshore company belonging to businessman Samvel Karapetyan and his family for approximately 18 billion Armenian drams.
