The fifth lecture of 2021 Ömer Engin Lütem Lectures was held online on 15 April 2021. The main speaker of the lecture titled “1914-1921 Türk-Ermeni İlişkileri: 7 Yıl-7 Olay” (1914-1921 Turkish-Armenian Relations: 7 Years-7 Major Events) was Mechanical Engineer-Author Mehmet Arif Demirer.

In his presentation, Mehmet Arif Demirer emphasized very important seven events in terms of Turkish-Armenian relations, covering the years 1914-1921. Starting from Turkish and Russian proposals made to the Armenians in 1914, he maintained his speech under the headings of “Armenian Rebellions and Betrayal (1915-1916),” “Russian Occupation of Eastern Anatolia,” “Bolsheviks Revolution and Armenian Occupation- Cruelty,” “Trabzon Conference and Batumi Peace Treaty (1918),” Sevres Treaty and Wilson Map.” Finally, Demirer talked about the details of the letter written by Simon Vratsian, the last Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, referring to the Gumru Treaty on 18 March 1921.
