Türkiye has issued a new navigational warning covering parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, as its research vessel Oruç Reis prepares to conduct surveys related to a planned undersea natural gas pipeline linking southern Türkiye with Turkish Cyprus.

NAVTEX 0953/26, issued by the Antalya hydrographic station, covers waters extending from Türkiye’s southern coastline toward Turkish Cyprus and will remain in force from Oct. 1 through Oct. 25.

Oruç Reis is expected to carry out preparatory survey work for the pipeline project, accompanied by the vessels Denar Pathfinder, Denar Echo and Kırıcı.
