The European Commission has announced support in the amount of 171 million euros to encourage the development of infrastructure and the growth of the private sector in the Western Balkans(*), however this money is not intended for the Serbian and Kosovo markets.

Of that amount, EUR 94,7 million is intended for infrastructure investments, EUR 76,3 million for support to the private sector, while EUR 2,9 million is allocated for four technical assistance projects in Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These projects are aimed at preparing future investments in the energy, water supply, innovation and research sectors.

(*) AVİM considers the term "Western Balkans" to be a politically motivated separatist terminology and insists on the use of the geographical and historical identification "Balkans" regarding the region.
