Cyprus(*) is pursuing potential cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for an EU-financed subsea power cable that will connect Europe to the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides met with the UAE president to explore partnership and investment opportunities related to this project, reaffirming Cyprus’s political commitment. This initiative aims to link Greece, Cyprus, and Israel via what is planned to be the world’s longest and deepest high-voltage subsea cable, measuring 1,240 km and reaching 3,000 meters.
