Russia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening strategic cooperation with Azerbaijan, describing the country as an important partner in the South Caucasus and Caspian region ahead of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s visit to Moscow.

In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said bilateral relations are based on traditional friendship, good-neighborliness, equality, mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests, News.Az reports.

According to the ministry, more than 150 international legal agreements have been concluded between the two countries. Moscow also reiterated its commitment to fully implementing the Declaration on Allied Interaction signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Moscow on February 22, 2022.
