Under the auspices of Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi and French President Emmanuel Macron, six memoranda of understanding between Iraq and France were signed on Monday.

The six memoranda of understanding between Iraq and France were signed on Monday at the Élysée Palace in the French capital, Paris, according to a statement from the PM Media Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. The MOUs covered several fields and sectors of bilateral economic cooperation, as follows:

1. A Letter of Intent between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and Harmattan AI on strategic cooperation in the field of air defense.

2. A Declaration of Intent between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces on securing French military equipment within the framework of rebuilding and developing Iraq’s defense capabilities.

3. A Declaration of Intent on partnership to enhance opportunities for youth, research, and innovation between the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

4. A Declaration of Intent between the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its French counterpart on strengthening the partnership with the French Development Agency (AFD).

5. A Cooperation Protocol concerning a contract for the supply and sale of gas between the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity and TotalEnergies.

6. A Declaration of Intent on cooperation in the field of civil aviation between the Iraqi and French ministries of transportation.
