Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with the Palestinian poet Tamim Al-Barghouti, who is visiting Iraq as an honorary guest at the Baghdad International Book Fair.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the Palestinian poet Tamim al-Barghouti, who is visiting Iraq as a guest of honor at the Baghdad International Book Fair."

The Prime Minister praised the Palestinian poet for his significant role in advocating for the cause of his country, Palestine, and in raising global awareness of the Palestinian people's rights to live with dignity in a free and independent Palestinian state on their historic land.
