Council of Europe (28 January 2026)

Armenia signed the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law (STCE n° 225) on 27 January 2026. This brings the total number of signatories up to 19, to date.

The Framework Convention is the first-ever international legally binding treaty aimed at ensuring that the use of AI systems is fully consistent with human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
