Since 1994—that is, after the ceasefire, from the start—the negotiation process was about returning Karabakh to Azerbaijan. The negotiation process did not have any other content, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on Facebook.

"Talks about other content were introduced in the Republic of Armenia exclusively to solve internal political problems. In this context, I made a big mistake; getting familiarized with the content of negotiations in 2018, I did not admit the abovementioned to myself (my patriotism of the model you know did not allow me to do this), and therefore I did not explain all that to the people," added the Armenian premier.
