Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' centre-right government faces a no-confidence vote this week over the railway disaster that killed 57 people.

Protesters in Athens launched gasoline bombs and fireworks in clashes with police on Wednesday night, following a fresh wave of nationwide demonstrations calling for politicians to be held accountable for a 2023 railway disaster that killed 57 people.

The violence outside Greece’s parliament erupted hours after opposition parties challenged Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' centre-right government with a no-confidence motion.
