The Russia calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan not to allow escalating steps on the border. Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), stated this at Wednesday’s press briefing.

Zakharova emphasized that Russia is monitoring the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

“We [i.e. Moscow] reaffirm our call on Baku and Yerevan to show restraint, take steps to de-escalate tension, avoid any actions that could lead to a worsening of the situation”, added the Russian MFA spox.
