The Popular Mobilization Forces announced today, Tuesday, launching of a new security operation with the participation of the army in Al-Hather desert, south of Mosul, to pursue ISIS remnants and secure the desert from terrorist infiltration.

PMF said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The army and The Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a security operation in Al-Hather desert, south of Mosul."

The statement added, "A force from the 15th Division of the Iraqi army participated in the security operation, in addition to the 44th and 25th Brigade, the 1st Battalion in the Armor Fighting Directorate and the anti-explosive detachments of the Popular Mobilization Forces."

The statement also mentioned that “The security operation is continuing, to pursue ISIS remnants and secure the desert from the infiltration of terrorists."
