Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid an official visit to Belgrade on October 10th and 11th. This was the new meeting between the President of Türkiye and the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic after September this year, when they last met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. Nevertheless, the Turkish president is officially visiting the Serbian capital after two years, and the importance of this two-day visit is best expressed by the statement of President Vucic, who stated that this is "always a great honor for Serbia, especially at a time when the global scene is marked by challenges, as political as well as economic."

Political and economic topics dominated the meeting between the two presidents, as well as the topics of problems that Serbia and Türkiye face individually and together. In this sense, President Erdoğan emphasized the constant development of economic relations, which is particularly visible in the field of trade exchange, which during the last two years reached 2 billion dollars. Turkey is certainly an important economic partner of Serbia, since its investments exceed 400 million dollars, as well as the fact that within the framework of 842 Turkish companies that are present on the domestic market, a significant number of citizens of the Republic of Serbia are employed. Additionally, economic relations could be intensified during the upcoming years, especially since Belgrade will host EXPO 2027, which is particularly interesting and important for Turkish construction firms and companies.
