It was recently announced that the Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) decided to continue its face-to-face meetings in a virtual environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this new system, the first lecture titled “Malta-A Trial or An Exile?”, at which the main speaker was the Former Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Uluç Gürkan, was held online on Thursday, 8 October 2020.

In his presentation, Former Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand Assembly Uluç Gürkan shared his findings on the legal and historical refutation of the Armenian genocide allegations, as well as his studies regarding the Malta Trials that have an essential place in Turkish history. The lecture was concluded by a Q&A session. An essay derived from Mr. Gürkan's presentation will be published by AVİM in the book of Ömer Engin Lütem Lectures of 2020.
