The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that it hosted the ambassadors of Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine to the Republic of Iraq. The Ministry also indicated that Iraq expressed its regret regarding these countries' stance on Iraq's decision to deposit its maritime boundaries map with the United Nations.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry said that "Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations, Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom, hosted, in separate meetings at the Ministry, the ambassadors of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ahmed Samir Helmy; Palestine, Samar Abdul Rahman Hussein Awadallah; and Jordan, Maher Salem Al-Tarawneh, following statements issued by their respective countries concerning the Republic of Iraq's deposit of its maritime boundaries map with the United Nations."

Bahr al-Uloum affirmed that "Iraq's decision to deposit its maritime boundaries map is a sovereign right that cannot be relinquished," clarifying "Iraq's position and observations regarding the Egyptian statement, which overlooked Iraq's opinion, stance, and the measures it has taken in full compliance with the provisions of international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and with complete transparency reflecting its commitment to addressing all related issues through legal and diplomatic frameworks, in a manner that safeguards Iraq's sovereignty and preserves its national rights."
